iOS 8.0.1 Release: Download Links

The bugs found in iOS 8 have been addressed in the new update iOS 8.0.1.  One of the notable bugs was the Healthkit apps bug. These apps were not available in App Store for a while. This update is available for free. It can be installed as OTA as well as using IPSW files manually. The new update is rather small in size. The official changelog of iOS 8.0.1 is as follows.

  • Fixes a bug so HealthKit apps can now be made available on the App Store
  • Addresses an issue where 3rd party keyboards could become deselected when a user enters their passcode
  • Fixes an issue that prevented some apps from accessing photos from the Photo Library
  • Improves the reliability of the Reachability feature on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
  • Fixes an issue that could cause unexpected cellular data usage when receiving SMS/MMS messages
  • Better support of Ask To Buy for Family Sharing for In-App Purchases
  • Fixes an issue where ringtones were sometimes not restored from iCloud backups
  • Fixes a bug that prevented uploading photos and videos from Safari

The iOS 8.0.1 update is available for iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPod 5th Gen, iPad 2, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad Air, Retina iPad Mini and 1st Gen iPad Mini. The size of the OTA update is about 73 MB.
