Android 5.0 Lollipop is the latest iteration in the history of Android OS and it is considered to be the biggest release yet. It contains largest number of APIs yet, which makes it even more versatile that its predecessors. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes with a new design makeover, which Google has named as Material design. It is based on a new concept and Google is planning to keep the same design over different operating systems. It is clear that Google is trying to merge Android with Chrome OS.

MOreover, this Android 5.0 Lollipop is more battery friendly. The most important domain where Nexus devices used to get beaten easily, was battery life. With Android 5.0, Google has introduced some new battery saving features which are supposed to increase the battery life up to two hours. It means that Nexus 5 might just get through the day without needing another charge.

Android Lollipop is officially available for Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 only at the moment. Google has released the Developer’s preview versions of Android 5.0 ROMs for Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. These builds are meant for developers mainly but these can be installed by any one who wants to have a taste of this update before the official release date.
