Hyundai has received an immensely positive response about its sedan Elantra. However, Hyundai has not done justice with the fans as there has not been a new edition of Elantra from the past two years. Contrastingly, new facelift version of Elantra has been released in the US back in August this year. But there is still no sign of the new Elantra in India officially.
But some news agencies, as well as fans, have spotted the new version being tested in Ooty, and the pictures are going viral. The 2019 Elantra might be released anytime in the upcoming year; we still have no word from Hyundai. The testing might be an indication that Elantra is coming soon in India.
The new Elantra will have a lot of changes in look, as we have already seen in the US model. We can assume a lot of similarities between the American and Indian model. The face will have significant changes, similar to that of the latest Verna. Apart from the looks, the new Verna will also be equipped with latest safety features like – forward collision warning along with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with active lane control, a rear-view camera with cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitors.
These are all the expected specs from the US edition; it would be interesting to see how much of these specs are added in the Indian version. The car is supposed to work with the existing 2.0-liter petrol engine and a 1.6-liter diesel engine. So, we will have to wait for the launch of 2019 Elantra in India for more detailed information.
