Foldable phones are the new trend in technology, and almost everyone is looking to contribute to the latest trend. We also got information that reportedly Samsung is also working on a foldable phone, and that might have triggered a lot of other smartphone manufacturers. But now we have another competitor, as Oppo is also working on a foldable phone. The Chinese handset maker is also aiming for the new market, it was confirmed by a product manager of Oppo to a private news agency.
However, this is just a ball thrown in the air as there was no detailed data or even a specific release date. It has been announced that Oppo will be showcasing their foldable smartphone in the Mobile World Congress this February. It seems like they will show a prototype model and they might not be ready for the sale in February. We knew that Oppo was also eyeing for the foldable phone as it has patented a lot of ideas of foldable mobile phone designs and displays including a two-folded design.
For those who do not know, Samsung has already shown off their first foldable phone equipped with an Infinity Flex display, and Samsung has affirmed that they will be ready to sell the phone in March 2019. Oppo’s decision seems to be a reply to Samsung’s phone, as they might also be working hard to launch their phone as soon as possible for customers. Huawei, Lenovo, and Xiaomi have also shown their prototype models, and Google has also assured extended support to the new displays.
