Facebook has been one of the widely used social media platforms, and it even owns other popular platforms too, such as Instagram and WhatsApp. However, Facebook has been being accused of election meddling, more or less due to Russia and Iran. However, Mark Zuckerberg as assured that they are taking strong calls on the issue.
Nonetheless, their income and users are still at the lowest. More importantly, they lost 1 million users from Europe. 1 million might not seem as big as Facebook is a 2 billion user community, but Europe generates the highest income for ads. So, those 1 million exits might be costing them a lot for sure.
Facebook’s stock value has also decreased since July, and it is a warning sign for them. In response, Mark Zuckerberg has taken tough calls. Moreover, we have even witnessed some high-level exits from Facebook-owned Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus. All of these are consequences of bad performance, for sure.
Apart from that, Facebook has introduced a story feature. But they were unaware that the function would be an overnight hit. It became hit both on Instagram as well as Facebook. Nevertheless, it became a concern for Facebook as they had a highly developed ad revenue system for feed. But people are now posting more on stories which have led to reduced profits for Facebook.
Facebook even announced that they are working on the ad management for stories, and they will try everything to turn their story traffic into money. So, we might soon see an uplift in their revenue, but still, Facebook has a lot to clear up.
