Google has finally brought its eSIM functionality for Pixel 3 users in India. The search engine giant has collaborated with Reliance Jio and Airtel telecom networks in India to fulfill the connectivity. For those who do not know, Google is the first smartphone manufacturer who is providing built-in eSIMS, as a part of its Project Fi which is now changed to Google Fi. Kerrie Lenhart Hogan said, “Sprint in the US, EE in the UK, Airtel and Reliance Jio in India, and Truphone and Gigsky in various countries will also roll out eSIM support for Pixel 3 in the coming months”.
An in-built SIM support lets users connect to network easily by just touching a button. Not only that, Google enables users to connect across all the devices of Google ecosystem including Android smartphones to Chromebook and smartwatches with Wear OS.
Another statement from Google also suggested that they are working on a programme which will allow Android device manufacturers to create eSIM-capable smartphones, to create a more consistent and simplified experience throughout the ecosystem.
