It is now almost evident that people are facing the issue while accessing porn sites and well, the queries posted in Reddit are true as the Mukesh Ambani led Telecom giant, Jio has banned many popular porn websites including the likes of Pornhub, Xnxx, Xvideos and many more. Well, Jio is the main driving reason behind the booming response of people on the internet, and due to its lucrative services, video streaming has been extremely popular for users using Jio services. Even the statistics also show that most of the data used are because of online video usage but, I’ll not further go into the details of it.

Porn accessing does fall in this category and the fact the people are shouting in numbers on this issue, kind of makes us aware of the kind of videos users streamed the most. A judgment was made by the High court of Uttrakhand on 28th September which directly orders ISPs to ban several hundreds of porn websites.

According to the order, the Department of Telecom (DoT) has made it clear to the Internet Service providers that they must ban a total of 827 websites which allows porn streaming for free. Failure to do so will result in license cancellation. The order reads that it is necessary to stop unlimited accessing of porn sites, so as to prevent an adverse effect on the minds of innocent children.

It seems that Jio is following the footsteps by banning all of the major porn sites and it struck hard on its users. One user mentioned on Reddit and the note read that he is not able to connect to any of the porn websites on Jio Network and inquired other users about the issue as well. Memes have already started flooding mentioning that the huge data allotted per day have become useless now.

It seems that Jio is the only one who is abiding by the order and it might be possible that other Telecom Services also joins in the initiative. On the contrary to this order, the IT act state otherwise. The act states the free access to porn sites in Cybercafes while refraining from any kind of such contents involving children. This is neither legalized nor banned. Accessing or downloading of such contents are safe to a certain extent which does not involve any kind of transmission or publications.

Apart from accessing adult websites, others such as Torrent, etc. are also blocked, but, still people find ways to access them anyway, so if this ban stays at a local ISP level, then it won’t be too hard for users to bypass this and the remedy is already being discussed on the internet.

We will update you more on the status of this situation, so stay tuned to us.
