HMD Global recently slashed the prices of many Nokia smartphones including some entry-level smartphones. For Nokia, the smartphone segment has been pretty rough, with competition from MI and other companies in entry-level smartphones and the upper range segment, One Plus, and other companies. After the launch, Nokia smartphones didn’t do well in the market, and now the company has decided to slash the prices to attract more customers in the upcoming festive season.
Let’s take up some entry-level smartphones first. Nokia 3.1 which features 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and houses in MediaTek MT6750 chipset and runs Android Oreo out of the box. It was launched in India in May at a price of Rs. 11,999. The smartphone has received a price slash of 1000 bucks and now is available at 10,999.
Nokia 5.1 which was released alongside with Nokia 3.1 is also one of the smartphones which have received a price cut. 5.1 is powered by MediaTek MT6755S SoC with 32GB/3GB and 16GB/2GB variants. It was also released in May at a price slab of Rs. 11,799. It will also be available at the price of 10,999 receiving a cut of 1,500 bucks.
Going up in the smartphone segment, Nokia launched 6.1 in April. The smartphone came in two variants 32GB/3GB and 64/4GB at the price of Rs. 16,999 and 18,999 respectively. The smartphone houses in octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC. The 3GB variant is now available at 13,499 and 4GB variant available at a price of 16,499.
Nokia also took on the premium android segment by launching a flagship smartphone – Nokia 8 Sirocco. The smartphone powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM was previously priced at Rs. 49,999. The smartphone has received a price cut of massive 13,000! The smartphone is now available at the price of Rs. 36,999.
