Today, Samsung launched their new Exynos 9820 SoC, and it will succeed the former Exynos 9810 SoC, and Samsung Galaxy S10 will be the first device that will be coming with the processor.

There are beast processors which are dominating the market, and Samsung isn’t going to back down, and the upcoming SoC is the answer against Snapdragon 855, the Kirin 980 and Apple’s A12 Bionic. However, unlike its rivals, Samsung’s Exynos 9820 SoC will be based on the 8nm process while Apple’s is implementing the 7nm process. However, it was revealed that Samsung would be designing new chips based on the 7nm process, however, using a different technology.

The new Exynos 9820 SoC will be a lot powerful and more power efficient than its predecessor 9810 model. The previous model was based on a 10 nm process, and because of implementing 8 nm process, the new Exynos 9820 is said to be 10% better power management system than the former one.

According to reports, the new Exynos 9820 packs Cortex A75 cores (2x), Cortex A55 cores (4x) and 4th gen custom cores (4x) and has bundled Mali-G76 which according to Samsung will be a great asset to the SoC and it will provide a boost of 40% in terms of performance and 30% increase in Prower Savings over Exynos 9810 processors. You’ll also find LTE Advanced Pro modem on this SoC which will allow a mammoth 2 GBPS download speed.

Also, Samsung has incorporated a dedicated NPU (Neural Processing Unit) which will fasten up AI processes, and it could be as fast as 7 times more than that of Exynos 9810. Along with it, according to Samsung, the chipset will support a Single-Camera setup of up to 22 MP, and a dual setup of 16MP + 16MP and along with it, Samsung has added two new features which are five-camera support and the ability to record 8K videos at 30 FPS. Apart from it, it will be able to record 4K videos at 150 FPS as well.

Exynos 9820 SoC will be debuting with Samsun Galaxy S10 which is expected to release in 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
